The following school administrative changes take effect for Wicomico County Public Schools on July 1st. Please congratulate all of these principals, assistant principals and deans of students as they prepare to put their experience and talents to work in new or continuing assignments for the 2025-2026 school year.
A full listing of school leadership teams – with principals, assistant principals and deans of students – is also provided. One assistant principal position and one dean of students position will be filled in the next few weeks.
Principal Changes (Effective July 1, 2025):
Principal, Beaver Run Elementary: Dave Harris (currently Supervisor of Accelerated Learning, Instructional Innovation, and Virtual Learning). He will replace Curt Twilley, who is retiring.
Principal, Fruitland Intermediate: Michele McGoogan (currently Principal at Glen Avenue Elementary)
Principal, Glen Avenue Elementary: Tara Parsons (currently Principal at Fruitland Intermediate)
Principal, Northwestern Elementary: Madison O’Donnell (currently Principal of Pinehurst Elementary)
Principal, Pinehurst Elementary: Aly Dargan (currently Principal of Northwestern Elementary)
Principal, Westside Primary: Breonna Hopkins (promoted, currently Assistant Principal at North Salisbury Elementary). She will replace Glendon Jones, who is retiring.
Assistant Principal (AP) and Dean of Student Changes (Effective July 1, 2025):
Beaver Run Elementary: AP Laura Miles (currently Assistant Principal at East Salisbury Elementary) will now be an Assistant Principal at Beaver Run.
Charles H. Chipman Elementary: AP Julie Stevens joins the Chipman leadership team, serving as an AP for Chipman and overseeing ELT (Early Learning Transitions, alternative education program for PreK-Grade 1). This year she was an AP for Beaver Run and ELT, when ELT was located in east Salisbury.
East Salisbury Elementary: AP Heather Cherry (currently serving as AP of Westside Intermediate) to replace Laura Miles (moving to Beaver Run Elementary as an AP); Dr. Keoshia Warner-Chaibou (currently AP at West Salisbury Elementary) returns to East Salisbury to serve as an AP for East Salisbury and to oversee PATH (Positive Actions Transform Horizons, the alternative education program for grades 2-5).
North Salisbury Elementary: AP Jesse Taylor (currently Dean of Students at Westside Primary) to replace Breonna Hopkins (moving to Westside Primary as Principal); Heather Smith (currently a Dean of Students at Bennett Middle) becomes Dean of Students at North Salisbury (replacing Tiffany Redden, who will be a pupil personnel worker for Wicomico Schools).
West Salisbury Elementary: AP Erica Henkel (currently an AP at Beaver Run Elementary) to replace Dr. Keoshia Warner-Chaibou (who moves to East Salisbury Elementary as an AP for ESS and PATH)
Westside Primary: Dean of Students Stephanie Dickerson (currently a 1st Grade teacher at Fruitland Primary), to replace Jesse Taylor (promoted to Assistant Principal at North Salisbury Elementary)
Westside Intermediate: AP Leslie Tolley (promoted from her current position as Dean of Students for Choices Academy) to replace Heather Cherry (moving to East Salisbury Elementary as AP)
Bennett Middle: Panagiota Salpeas (currently a science teacher at BMS) to serve as a Dean of Students to replace Heather Smith (who will be Dean of Students at North Salisbury Elementary)
Wicomico Middle: Lacey Leo (currently a Health Education teacher at Bennett Middle) to serve as a Dean of Students for Wi Middle. She replaces Babe Wilson (promoted to serve as a Safe Schools Coordinator for Wicomico Schools).
Wicomico High: Third AP TBD, to replace AP Stephen Romano (promoted to serve as Supervisor of Athletic Programs for Wicomico Schools).
